COLOR: BRIGHT COMBINATIONS

If you read Peppermint Bliss, you have probably seen by now the amazing work of Bailey. The girl can put some mean color combinations together and pull them off effortlessly, while creating total interiors jealousy. Her house is TO. DIE. FOR. Since seeing her super fun family room - I am inspired to use a little color here and there, possibly together, ala some of these colorful but not crazy rooms...

ITS A BRASS, BRASS WORLD

The little Brass revival thats going on in design right now couldn't make me happier. My 1922 house has mostly brass doorknobs, along with a few other things, and I think that these pieces are the ones which truly add to the character. Brass is warm, inviting, it isn't stuffy or overdone and its so pretty used sparingly in these spaces...

I also hope that you men out there can finally find something that speaks to you as well. THE PRETTIEST PLACE: IDAHO

In a couple of weeks, my family and I will head to southern Idaho for the wedding of my cousin, and his beautiful fiance. She grew up on a goat farm nestled into the mountains, that is nothing short of picturesque. Like, seriously, amazingly, awe-inspiring beautiful. They are two of the most kind, sweet, and thoughtful people I know, and I'm absolutely certain that their big day will reflect that. This wedding was captured by Alexis, and, as you can see - she has a big heart for this kind of event. The magic in these photos is palpable, and I imagine that B+G's big day will be similar...

This couldn't be more different from my wedding in Palm Beach, but I'm equally as in love with it. B+G have plans to throw a true western-style bash, and have told us to dress accordingly. While western-style dress is slightly out of my comfort zone, I have pulled a few things together that I think will be true to both styles...

Nothing overdone, or loud. A few pieces that easily mix and match, while still functional and stylish.

ABSTRACT IKATS

Lately I've been working on trying to finish up my dining room. Things have been slowly falling into place since we moved in, and now I'm looking for some art to hang on either side of my buffet. I go between some great photography, or a pieces of matching but not the same art. I came across these cool abstract ikat pieces by Etsy seller Anna White.

I love the colors that she has used together, especially the pinks and reds!

AT HOME IN THE OFFICE

Offices that are warm and feel like an extension of someone's well decorated home are so intriguing to me. I love the detail, the thought, the whole feeling. Elizabeth Blitzer of Blitzer and Company has made her New York office feel like somewhere that I'm willing to bet her clients love to hang out. Specializing in public relations for interior designers, Elizabeth has successfully married the industry in which she works and her work space...

MASCULINE GLAMOUR

When my alarm went off this morning, I wondered if it had glitched - it is so gloomy outside today. I don't really mind the rain, or darker than usual skies, it makes me feel less guilty about sitting at my computer all day.  This home seems like the perfect place to spend a rainy day. While I dont think that I could paint all the walls in my house this perfect matte black - it really is intriguing here, in this home designed by Cathy Echols...

The small pops of color seem electric against these continually dark surfaces.

I love the way that the textures stand out in these spaces, and there are many if you look closely.

PRETTY IN PINK

I'm still not over pink this week- I think tomorrow I can move on. These pretty light pink chairs and sofas are just too good. The striped one makes you just want to curl up for the afternoon, and China Seas on that last sofa- be still my heart.

Could you have a pink sofa?
